Hi,
Interesting, but when I read the title I thought it would be about something slightly different... this article seems about how fast people can speak, efficient language in my opinion is what language gets a message across quick and efficient, hence the meaning of words. For one word in English there are a lot more words in Spanish, just look at a dictionary and you see the difference in volume. English is regarded as a more efficient language, as you can say many things with few words.
Thought it was worth mentioning.
