Info about Fife

The 'home of golf', Fife is perhaps most famous for being the town that hosts the St Andrews golf course. The third largest local authority in Scotland, the peninsula of Fife is also the site of one of the oldest surviving universities in England. The area is filled with small towns and villages, though the majority of the population live in the three largest towns of Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes. Steeped within picturesque surroundings, Fife is a wonderful place to pick up a new language. While there will primarily be only Scottish people to talk with, the serenity of much of the area is perfect for reflection and study.
