One-to-one General/Business

German Course in Oxford

If you want to be taught German for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.

While a General German course will provide you with enough linguistic ammunition to allow you to survive a short visit to the country (greetings, basic conversation and a solid grammatical foundation). A Business course will focus on business protocol in German, and later on reading and writing will become more important.

Our German courses would not be fixed to a specific curriculum, however. You know the specifics of what you will need from your new language, and all you need do is tell your teacher. Perhaps if you are taking a Business course, you may want to focus more on German telephone or email skills, or a specific vocabulary for your line of work. In the same way, those taking a General course who may need more knowledge of a certain aspect of German need only request it from their teacher.

Typical Business course students include those in international import/export, those hoping to gain acquisitions in foreign countries, those within multinational corporations, and people who do business with foreign institutions and governments. General courses are not simply for those who need to reach a certain level of German for an exam - they are perfect for those wishing to pack up and move abroad, those marrying a German national, as well as those travelling to the country for any other reason.

City information

A city of around 135,000 residents, Oxford is most famous for housing the oldest university in the known world, which dates all the way back to the end of the 11th century. The city is one of the most culturally diverse small cities in the country, mainly thanks to the sheer number of overseas students attracted by the quality of the university; and its cosmopolitan nature is reflected in areas such as Cowley Road and Headington, which feature many ethnic shops, bars and fast food markets.

Oxford is a fantastic place not only as a site of British history and heritage, but also for foreign studies. With the constant influx of people from all around the world, the city is a marvellous place to learn a new language.
