One-to-one General/Business
German Course in Stoke
It doesn't matter if you want to learn German for business or pleasure - our customised language courses will help you get where you want to be.
General and Business courses in German differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. Business courses are aimed at those wishing to work in the target language - so a working knowledge of etiquette in German business, as well as developing proficient reading and writing skills.
Our German courses would not be fixed to a specific curriculum, however. You know the specifics of what you will need from your new language, and all you need do is tell your teacher. Perhaps if you are taking a Business course, you may want to focus more on German telephone or email skills, or a specific vocabulary for your line of work. Equally, a General course will cover the fundamentals, but further focus in any particular area can easily be arranged with your teacher.
We have a wide range of Business course clients for a variety of needs; including people who are off to work for a foreign administration, people working in a corporation with overseas headquarters, and import/export specialists. General courses cater mostly to those who wish to learn German for short trips to (or through) a country where it is widely spoken; as well as those who wish to pass a specific German exam, people who want to buy a home abroad, and people marrying into a German family.

Info about Stoke
With a population just under 250,000, Stoke-on-Trent is about halfway between Birmingham and Manchester, and was famed historically for the quality of its pottery and ceramics. However, the image of a sleepy town of potters is not Stoke's modern-day image - the city has a lively music scene (the birthplace of Robbie Williams, amongst others) and a vibrant clubbing circuit.
Stoke and the surrounding Potteries Urban Area have a distinct dialect, with numerous words unique to the English language, most famously using the word 'duck' as a greeting. Stoke also has a growing Asian population, making it a great city to study languages from Asia and the subcontinent.

I'd always found French really difficult at school, so when I started needing it more for work, I was a little nervous about starting classes. Nadia has been really reassuring, though, and it's all coming back so quickly. Day-to-day emails are easy now, and I'm almost there with the formal letters. Thanks, Nadia!
