One-to-one General/Business
Russian Course in Bolton
Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.
General and Business courses in Russian differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. Business courses are great for those whose career will be moving overseas - you would learn the fundamental protocols for engaging in business in Russian, and later would start to focus more on the integral skills of reading and writing.
It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in Russian, as well as using the telephone. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.
We have a wide range of Business course clients for a variety of needs; including people who are off to work for a foreign administration, people working in a corporation with overseas headquarters, and import/export specialists. Clients of our General Russian courses include people moving abroad, those entering a Russian family through marriage, those studying for a Russian exam, as well as those who are simply passionate about Russian language and culture.

Info about Bolton
Home to the 'friendliest people in Britain', Bolton is home to around 150,000 people and has an almost surprisingly lively tourism industry. The north-west is youthful area of the UK, and the average age around the city is around 38, fitting in with the region. In fact the local council aims to make Bolton 'a great place to grow up, live, learn, work, do business and visit'.
Bolton is also famed for being the birthplace of comedian Peter Kay; who in many ways put Bolton 'back on the map', since the vestige of their former fame lay in their epic cotton manufacturing period during the industrial revolution.
Either way, Bolton may not seem like a place you would expect to associate with first class language tuition, but there are plenty of qualified trainers just waiting for you to book classes in your target language.
Info about Russian
As the most popular Slavic language with around 275 million speakers worldwide, Russian is the official language of Russia, and is spoken widely in countries that used to form republics of the now-dissolved USSR; for example Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Russian is an extremely challenging language to learn for those with no experience of Slavic languages. First of all there's the hurdle of the Cyrillic alphabet, of which the Russians use their own 33-letter variant. Then there's the pronunciation - almost a world apart from any English dialect. Russian is classified as a 'level III' language (the second hardest level) in terms of difficulty for native English speakers, according to the Defence Language Institute of California; but the doors that learning Russian opens to you cannot be underestimated.

Moving to Scotland with my family was difficult, because I never could understand the accent! Andy comes over to our flat on Saturday afternoons and helps my wife and I a lot. He even helped us with some local slang terms and things to do in the city. We are much more comfortable here now, and continue with our classes.
