One-to-one General/Business

Russian Course in Sefton

If you want to be taught Russian for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.

General Russian courses will provide you with enough grammar and vocabulary to allow you to converse with native speakers, and form a strong basis for further learning. A Business course in Russian will generally cover basic business etiquette in that language, and at a higher level, reading and writing in Russian.

It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in Russian, as well as using the telephone. Equally, a General course will cover the fundamentals, but further focus in any particular area can easily be arranged with your teacher.

Typical Business course students include those in international import/export, those hoping to gain acquisitions in foreign countries, those within multinational corporations, and people who do business with foreign institutions and governments. General courses in Russian suit those hoping to emigrate to foreign shores, people with a view to travel to countries where Russian is the vernacular tongue, those with a keen interest in Russian culture and language, and people with foreign spouses.

Info about Sefton

Sefton is a borough of Merseyside on the west coast of the UK, founded in 1972, when the nearby boroughs and districts of Bootle, Southport, Crosby, Formby and Litherland were all merged - sparking controversy from the locals. However, there were bound to be a few dissidents in a 275,000-strong population, many of whom were happy as they were.

Since it is an amalgamation of previously-existing settlements, the demographics and cultural diversity of Sefton vary from area to area. While the population is mostly native to the UK shores, the cultural variety of Sefton as a whole makes it an excellent area in which to pick up a new language.

Info about Russian

As the most popular Slavic language with around 275 million speakers worldwide, Russian is the official language of Russia, and is spoken widely in countries that used to form republics of the now-dissolved USSR; for example Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Russian is an extremely challenging language to learn for those with no experience of Slavic languages. First of all there's the hurdle of the Cyrillic alphabet, of which the Russians use their own 33-letter variant. Then there's the pronunciation - almost a world apart from any English dialect. Russian is classified as a 'level III' language (the second hardest level) in terms of difficulty for native English speakers, according to the Defence Language Institute of California; but the doors that learning Russian opens to you cannot be underestimated.
