Russian is an extremely challenging language to learn for those with no experience of Slavic languages. Russian is classified as a 'level III' language (the second hardest level) in terms of difficulty for native English speakers, according to the Defence Language Institute of California; but the doors that learning Russian opens to you cannot be underestimated.
