One-to-one General/Business
Russian Course in Wakefield
If you want to be taught Russian for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.
General and Business courses in Russian differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. Business courses will centre more on formal, business communication, and focus more on reading and writing skills as you advance further.
The possibilities are not limited to these two categories, however. Those taking a Business course will generally also learn Russian telephone and email skills, as well as learning the basics for surviving short visits to the country. Similarly, General courses can delve deeper into certain areas of the language that you know you will need.
Typical Business course students include those in international import/export, those hoping to gain acquisitions in foreign countries, those within multinational corporations, and people who do business with foreign institutions and governments. Our General courses cater for people aiming to purchase overseas property, globetrotters, Russian language and culture devotees, as well as people who need to pass a particular Russian exam.

Info about Wakefield
With around 80,000 residents, Wakefield is a minor city in West Yorkshire currently undergoing a large-scale urban redevelopment; primarily due to the urban decline after so many coal mines and industrial areas of the city were shut down in the '70s and '80s.
Nowadays Wakefield is famed for its prisons and its yearly rhubarb festival; but there is much more to the city - Wakefield College has over 3,000 full-time students and it is a centre for further education in the locale. There are plenty of language teachers from a range of overseas countries around the city, making it a great spot to pick up a new tongue.
Info about Russian
As the most popular Slavic language with around 275 million speakers worldwide, Russian is the official language of Russia, and is spoken widely in countries that used to form republics of the now-dissolved USSR; for example Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Russian is an extremely challenging language to learn for those with no experience of Slavic languages. First of all there's the hurdle of the Cyrillic alphabet, of which the Russians use their own 33-letter variant. Then there's the pronunciation - almost a world apart from any English dialect. Russian is classified as a 'level III' language (the second hardest level) in terms of difficulty for native English speakers, according to the Defence Language Institute of California; but the doors that learning Russian opens to you cannot be underestimated.
