One-to-one General/Business
Russian Course in Wigan
Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.
General and Business courses in Russian differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. A Business course will focus on business protocol in Russian, and later on reading and writing will become more important.
The possibilities are not limited to these two categories, however. Those taking a Business course will generally also learn Russian telephone and email skills, as well as learning the basics for surviving short visits to the country. In the same way, those taking a General course who may need more knowledge of a certain aspect of Russian need only request it from their teacher.
Typical learners who choose our Business courses are import/export professionals, agents for multi-national companies, and those involved with foreign governments and universities. Our General courses cater for people aiming to purchase overseas property, globetrotters, Russian language and culture devotees, as well as people who need to pass a particular Russian exam.

Info about Wigan
Standing on the river Douglas around 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool, Wigan is a large town with a fascinating history stretching back to the times of Celtic tribes. The town is famed for many things, including many musical legends such as George Formby Jr. And Sr., having the highest density of pubs and social clubs of any UK city, and of course, the annual World Pie Eating Championship.
Wigan has many minority communities scattered around the town and its suburbs; including Chinese, Caribbean, Pakistani, Indian and many from African nations. This makes it something of a multi-lingual town, and an excellent place to start finding your way in a brand new tongue.
Info about Russian
As the most popular Slavic language with around 275 million speakers worldwide, Russian is the official language of Russia, and is spoken widely in countries that used to form republics of the now-dissolved USSR; for example Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Russian is an extremely challenging language to learn for those with no experience of Slavic languages. First of all there's the hurdle of the Cyrillic alphabet, of which the Russians use their own 33-letter variant. Then there's the pronunciation - almost a world apart from any English dialect. Russian is classified as a 'level III' language (the second hardest level) in terms of difficulty for native English speakers, according to the Defence Language Institute of California; but the doors that learning Russian opens to you cannot be underestimated.
