Kirsty Turner is an experienced freelance writer specialising in travel and entertainment. She currently lives in Pai in the north of Thailand and spends a lot of her time exploring the area. Kirsty is also the author of the book Confessions of a Coward: An Indian Adventure, which is available at www.bangkokbooks.com and focuses on a nine-month journey through India and Nepal.
Kirsty lived in the vibrant city of Bangkok for eight years and wrote extensively about the richly diverse entertainment scene in the city, as well as local culture and social issues for publications, such as Bangkok Nightlife and Khaosanroad.com. She has written on a wide range of Bangkok-related topics, from the various areas of the city and what they offer to day-trip destinations and guides to bargain hunting in local markets.
Kirsty is an adept interviewer and has honed her skills over the years by interviewing both Thai and Western celebrities in multiple languages. Some of her favourite interview subjects include Thai pop singer Joey Boy and Kevin Spacey.
Over the years, Kirsty has written content for a large number of different travel and entertainment magazines around the world. She enjoys travelling to different countries to learn about their cultures while also seeking inspiration for travel articles.
Kirsty has also been a guest lecturer at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in Bangkok. She has taught short courses on poetry and public speaking and helped to train students of all ages to improve their public speaking ability. Furthermore, she has headlined in a number of spoken-word shows, where she has performed original pieces to audiences of all ages.
Kirsty also uses her enthusiasm for language to translate documents and articles from French and German into English, and proofreads and improves documents to make them flow perfectly.
