One-to-one General/Business
Arabic Course in Edinburgh
If you want to be taught Arabic for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.
A General course in Arabic will grant you 'Survival Arabic' - enough under your belt to furnish you with a working knowledge for the purpose of visiting the country, allowing you to introduce yourself and engage in conversation with native speakers. Business courses will centre more on formal, business communication, and focus more on reading and writing skills as you advance further.
It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in Arabic, as well as using the telephone. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.
We arrange Business courses for many clients; primarily those working in international trade, overseas governments and universities, and employees of multinational firms who require a second language. General courses cater mostly to those who wish to learn Arabic for short trips to (or through) a country where it is widely spoken; as well as those who wish to pass a specific Arabic exam, people who want to buy a home abroad, and people marrying into a Arabic family.

Info about Edinburgh
Edinburgh is something of a city of extremes. While the population is relatively old for the national average, the constant influx of the transient student population (around 100,000 out of a city of just under half a million people) makes up for the relative lack of resident youth. The city has a plethora of history, yet is one of the fastest-growing regions in Europe.
For most of the year the city is like any other historic Scottish city - mostly peaceful, with friendly residents, beautiful architecture, all overshadowed by a medieval castle. But that all goes to pot during the months from July to September, as the Edinburgh Festival runs its course, attracting many thousands of people to Scotland's capital.

Info about Arabic
Just as Latin forms the basis of most European languages, Arabic is prevalent throughout Islamic tongues. The most-spoken Semitic language in the world (well over 250 million speakers, mainly across the north of Africa), the Arabic language was of massive importance during the Middle Ages, with many important scientific, mathematical and philosophical works emanating from the Arabic world.
The first worry about learning Arabic is the alphabet - the main factor of confusion being that it is written from right to left. However, once you've settled in to the new writing system and rules of pronunciation, Arabic is an intensely rich language which attracts millions of new speakers every year.

hank you for your note and for the voucher. My project in Vietnam finished last week so I don't think I will be extending the course at this stage. Thuy was a wonderful teacher - flexible, professional and skilled. The only point I think is worth raising in terms of helping your improve your service is that my course book was a photocopy. If I remember rightly, the company paid £25 for the book/materials and this seems somewhat expensive if the book is a copied one without any CDs or recordings. Other than that small point, the course was excellent.
