One-to-one General/Business

Arabic Course in London

Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.

General and Business courses in Arabic differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. A Business course will focus on business protocol in Arabic, and later on reading and writing will become more important.

Courses are, however, tailor-made - you cover in your lessons what you need to cover. Most students taking a Business Arabic course will gain telephone and email expertise, as well as general conversation skills. In the same way, those taking a General course who may need more knowledge of a certain aspect of Arabic need only request it from their teacher.

Typical Business course students include those in international import/export, those hoping to gain acquisitions in foreign countries, those within multinational corporations, and people who do business with foreign institutions and governments. General courses are not simply for those who need to reach a certain level of Arabic for an exam - they are perfect for those wishing to pack up and move abroad, those marrying a Arabic national, as well as those travelling to the country for any other reason.

City information

London may well be THE place to pick up a second language - the city is awash with ethnic diversity thanks to the size, splendour and influence of the EU's most populous city. Over 300 languages are spoken around the sprawling mass of boroughs known as Greater London, shared amongst the 7 and a half million residents of the city.

As the capital of the UK, London has always attracted overseas interest, which is only helped by the fact that the city houses five international airports, including the busiest international airport in the world - Heathrow. This creates a constant influx of tourists and immigrants from a huge variety of cultural and religious origin. If there was ever a place ideally suited for learning another language, surely London is it - something that foreigners know only too well, as London is a global centre for English language learning.

Language information

Just as Latin forms the basis of most European languages, Arabic is prevalent throughout Islamic tongues. The most-spoken Semitic language in the world (well over 250 million speakers, mainly across the north of Africa), the Arabic language was of massive importance during the Middle Ages, with many important scientific, mathematical and philosophical works emanating from the Arabic world. The first worry about learning Arabic is the alphabet - the main factor of confusion being that it is written from right to left. However, once you've settled in to the new writing system and rules of pronunciation, Arabic is an intensely rich language which attracts millions of new speakers every year.
