One-to-one General/Business
Danish Course in London
Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.
A General course in Danish will grant you 'Survival Danish' - enough under your belt to furnish you with a working knowledge for the purpose of visiting the country, allowing you to introduce yourself and engage in conversation with native speakers. Business courses will centre more on formal, business communication, and focus more on reading and writing skills as you advance further.
The exact syllabus is not determined simply in terms of 'General' or 'Business' - the course is tailor-made to your needs. If, as a Business student, you need extra focus on telephone or email communication, or vocabulary from a specific field of business, you only need mention this to your tutor. In the same way, those taking a General course who may need more knowledge of a certain aspect of Danish need only request it from their teacher.
Our Business courses cater to a range of requirements. Many of our clients work for foreign governments and educational institutions, corporations with branches abroad, as well as those who buy and sell around the world. General courses are not simply for those who need to reach a certain level of Danish for an exam - they are perfect for those wishing to pack up and move abroad, those marrying a Danish national, as well as those travelling to the country for any other reason.

City information
London may well be THE place to pick up a second language - the city is awash with ethnic diversity thanks to the size, splendour and influence of the EU's most populous city. Over 300 languages are spoken around the sprawling mass of boroughs known as Greater London, shared amongst the 7 and a half million residents of the city.
As the capital of the UK, London has always attracted overseas interest, which is only helped by the fact that the city houses five international airports, including the busiest international airport in the world - Heathrow. This creates a constant influx of tourists and immigrants from a huge variety of cultural and religious origin. If there was ever a place ideally suited for learning another language, surely London is it - something that foreigners know only too well, as London is a global centre for English language learning.
Language information
A Scandinavian language spoken by around 6 million people - mostly in Denmark and Greenland - Danish is in many ways something of a unique tongue. No other language is so liable for shortening and reducing word forms, even in formal language; and includes 14 vowel sounds. Verbs change in form only according to tense, rather than standard conjugation - but they make up for this oddity by having a huge amount of irregular verbs.
Proficient speakers of Danish, Swedish and Norwegian can generally understand one another pretty well, despite various differences between the languages and varying dialects depending on area - though thankfully Danish does not suffer so much from distinct regional dialects.

Teaching English in BrasÃlia doesn't really require learning Portuguese (everything at the school is done in English), but I like to keep ahead of the game. The Language Trainers classes have given me a good grounding in conversational Portuguese, along with some great advice about living in such a different city. I can't wait to practice my skills once I hit the beaches!
