One-to-one General/Business
Dutch Course in Galway
Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.
General Dutch courses will cover Survival Dutch, allowing you to be comfortable during short visits to the country; polite conversation, practicable vocabulary and a strong grammatical foundation. A Business course will focus on business protocol in Dutch, and later on reading and writing will become more important.
It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in Dutch, as well as using the telephone. Similarly, General courses can delve deeper into certain areas of the language that you know you will need.
Typical learners who choose our Business courses are import/export professionals, agents for multi-national companies, and those involved with foreign governments and universities. General courses cater mostly to those who wish to learn Dutch for short trips to (or through) a country where it is widely spoken; as well as those who wish to pass a specific Dutch exam, people who want to buy a home abroad, and people marrying into a Dutch family.

Info about Dutch
Spoken by over 30 million people around the word, the Dutch language is the native tongue of the Netherlands and is spoken in many other countries throughout Europe and parts of Africa (being the parent language of Afrikaans). Dutch grammar is similar to German, but made easier by the relative lack of morphology (that is, words changing form depending on the role they are playing in a sentence). This gives it an English feel, though the vocabulary features plenty of those lovely lengthy compound words that generally characterise Germanic languages.
Dutch is not traditionally a popular language for non-native speakers to learn, mainly due to the fact that its use is not widespread, and most Dutch speakers are generally proficient in other European languages. However, the number of non-native speakers has surged in recent years.

Dear Paula, Hope all is fine for you. Above all, I am sorry because I haven't been able to take time enough to give you some feedback regarding the English lessons since I came back from Birmingham. As I said to Clara before going back to Paris, I was very satisfied and enjoyed a lot my English lessons with her. Of course, 4-hour lessons are obviously intensive, however I didn't see the time passing because it was very interesting for me and diversified. I think I had the opportunity to extend my vocabulary during my stay and to learn and improve some grammar (particularly : present perfect and present perfect continuous). Moreover, the lessons were in total coherence regarding the program of my lessons here in France and the objectives of my stay here in Birmingham. Clara helped me a lot and was very involved in allowing me to get the best out of this experience. I really hope this experience will be a first step in improving my english. I am at your disposal for any further details.
