One-to-one General/Business

English Course in Edinburgh

The tailor made classes we offer in English can help you personally or professionally, as the lessons are designed with your specific requirements in mind.

A General English course will concentrate on providing you with the knowledge you need in order for your trips abroad to be more interesting. You will no longer need to shy away from conversations with the locals. The Business courses we provide will give you the ability to cope in a more formal English environment whenever you need to.

It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in English, as well as using the telephone. The great thing about our General courses is that the syllabus is not set in stone. Whatever aspect of the language that you need to know can be added with no problem.

While it is impossible to describe the characteristics of the average language student it is clear that many who choose to take Business courses work in import-export or in companies with overseas headquarters or branches. You might automatically think that General courses in English are just for those language students who need to get ready for an exam. However, in this increasingly multi-cultural society there are many people who make friends with English speakers or who have a partner who speaks the language.

Info about Edinburgh

Edinburgh is something of a city of extremes. While the population is relatively old for the national average, the constant influx of the transient student population (around 100,000 out of a city of just under half a million people) makes up for the relative lack of resident youth. The city has a plethora of history, yet is one of the fastest-growing regions in Europe.

For most of the year the city is like any other historic Scottish city - mostly peaceful, with friendly residents, beautiful architecture, all overshadowed by a medieval castle. But that all goes to pot during the months from July to September, as the Edinburgh Festival runs its course, attracting many thousands of people to Scotland's capital.
