One-to-one General/Business

English Course in Plymouth

Whether you're looking to learn a language for personal or business reasons, our tailor-made courses can help you achieve your aims.

A General course in English will grant you 'Survival English' - enough under your belt to furnish you with a working knowledge for the purpose of visiting the country, allowing you to introduce yourself and engage in conversation with native speakers. A Business course in English will generally cover basic business etiquette in that language, and at a higher level, reading and writing in English.

The possibilities are not limited to these two categories, however. Those taking a Business course will generally also learn English telephone and email skills, as well as learning the basics for surviving short visits to the country. In the same way, those taking a General course who may need more knowledge of a certain aspect of English need only request it from their teacher.

Our Business courses cater to a range of requirements. Many of our clients work for foreign governments and educational institutions, corporations with branches abroad, as well as those who buy and sell around the world. General courses are not simply for those who need to reach a certain level of English for an exam - they are perfect for those wishing to pack up and move abroad, those marrying a English national, as well as those travelling to the country for any other reason.

Info about Plymouth

With around 250,000 inhabitants, Plymouth is one of the more populous cities in the south west of the UK. It is not, however, one of the more culturally diverse. With its largest ethnic minority group making up only around 0.5% of the city's population as a whole, the cultural homogeny is in line with the county of Devon as a whole.

This does not, however, discount Plymouth from being a suitable place to pick up a new language. The University of Plymouth is the biggest university in the south-west, with more than 30,000 students and many of them coming from overseas; and Plymouth is well-known for having many schools teaching English as a foreign language, mainly for the children visiting the city by Ferry from France and Spain.
