One-to-one General/Business
English Course in Portsmouth
If you want to be taught English for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.
General and Business courses in English differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. Business courses are great for those whose career will be moving overseas - you would learn the fundamental protocols for engaging in business in English, and later would start to focus more on the integral skills of reading and writing.
Courses are, however, tailor-made - you cover in your lessons what you need to cover. Most students taking a Business English course will gain telephone and email expertise, as well as general conversation skills. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.
Our Business courses cater to a range of requirements. Many of our clients work for foreign governments and educational institutions, corporations with branches abroad, as well as those who buy and sell around the world. Our General courses cater for people aiming to purchase overseas property, globetrotters, English language and culture devotees, as well as people who need to pass a particular English exam.

Info about Portsmouth
A city of almost 200,000 people, Porstmouth (or 'Pompey', as it is often nicknamed) is a large Hampshire city on the UK's south coast. For centuries it has been the site of major naval activity - the city has the oldest drydock in the world, and while its use has fallen into relative decline in recent years, it is still a bustling commercial port, and used regularly by the Royal Navy.
The city's population is diverse in domestic terms, mainly due to the influence of the Royal Navy. Many de-mobilised sailors from all around the country (as well as Ireland, Scotland and Wales) end up staying in Portsmouth. However, while tourism from overseas is strong in the city, the resident population is mainly white; though this takes nothing away from Portsmouth's capacity as a great place to learn a new language.

The staff at my small import company already knew a bit of Japanese, but I wanted to make sure that they were aware of the many customs and traditions, as well as improving their language skills. Kaori comes to the warehouse every Tuesday, and has always been patient and professional, even though sometimes the guys joke around with her. Everyone is really interested in the culture, and we've all become much more comfortable with our conversational skills. Cheers, Language Trainers.
