One-to-one General/Business

English Course in Reading

It doesn't matter if you want to learn English for business or pleasure - our customised language courses will help you get where you want to be.

A General course in English will grant you 'Survival English' - enough under your belt to furnish you with a working knowledge for the purpose of visiting the country, allowing you to introduce yourself and engage in conversation with native speakers. A Business course will focus on business protocol in English, and later on reading and writing will become more important.

Our English courses would not be fixed to a specific curriculum, however. You know the specifics of what you will need from your new language, and all you need do is tell your teacher. Perhaps if you are taking a Business course, you may want to focus more on English telephone or email skills, or a specific vocabulary for your line of work. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.

Our Business courses cater to a range of requirements. Many of our clients work for foreign governments and educational institutions, corporations with branches abroad, as well as those who buy and sell around the world. General courses cater mostly to those who wish to learn English for short trips to (or through) a country where it is widely spoken; as well as those who wish to pass a specific English exam, people who want to buy a home abroad, and people marrying into a English family.

Info about Reading

A small town with a population of around 250,000 people in the urban area, Reading is located west of London and is a major retail centre, with two major shopping malls and three smaller-scale arcades. It is also the location for the annual Reading music festival, which started in 1971 and has continued to grow in popularity.

Reading has a fairly wide diversity of ethnicity; featuring a large Afro-Caribbean contingent and many from the south Asian subcontinent. This makes it a great city in which to learn languages like Chinese, Hindi and Urdu; though with its proximity to London, finding teachers of other languages is no difficulty.

Info about English

English is a demanding language to learn, with its varied linguistic roots and lack of any kind of hard-and-fast pronunciation rules. If you need to learn English for any purpose, Language Trainers' native-speaking qualified English teachers can help you speak confidently in no time. We supply a tutor who can meet you at a time and location of your choice, and teach you either in private or group sessions. The course materials are provided by us, and the content of the course can be adjusted so you get the most from the lessons and learn what you need to learn, as opposed to a general overview.
