One-to-one General/Business
Portuguese Course in Dublin
It's no problem if you need to take Portuguese lessons specifically for personal use or to help with your career - our trainers mould the lesson plan to your precise needs.
General and Business courses in Portuguese differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. Business courses are great for those whose career will be moving overseas - you would learn the fundamental protocols for engaging in business in Portuguese, and later would start to focus more on the integral skills of reading and writing.
The possibilities are not limited to these two categories, however. Those taking a Business course will generally also learn Portuguese telephone and email skills, as well as learning the basics for surviving short visits to the country. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.
We have a wide range of Business course clients for a variety of needs; including people who are off to work for a foreign administration, people working in a corporation with overseas headquarters, and import/export specialists. Clients of our General Portuguese courses include people moving abroad, those entering a Portuguese family through marriage, those studying for a Portuguese exam, as well as those who are simply passionate about Portuguese language and culture.

Info about Dublin
Capital of Ireland and its largest city, Dublin was recently voted the best capital city in Europe in which to live - and the city has a pretty good case for such praise. While the city has traditionally been a centre of emigration, in recent decades the number of immigrants to Dublin has swelled, giving rise to a remarkable diverse community, particularly from the EU (mainly the UK, Lithuania and Poland), though there are also large Chinese, Nigerian, Brazilian, Russian and Australian communities.
One result of the mish-mash of ethnicities in the city is the eruption of ethnic food shops, but another is the array of languages heard around the city; which makes Dublin a superb location to pick up a new language. This vibrant city is full of young singles - 50% of inhabitants are under 25, and in 2007 Dublin was named the friendliest city in Europe in a worldwide survey.

Initially I was looking for intensive individual instruction over a short period of three to four weeks. I found Language Trainers UK through a web search and found the site easy to use. There was sufficient information on each of the packages available to help me make a choice and I finally settled on a course of 10 individual lessons (20hours) which suited my needs. The course was set up very quickly and has been well organised with flexibility about both venue and dates. With regard to the individual sessions I have found Elena to be well qualified and efficient. She quickly established an appreciation of my language level and past experience of learning Latin, French and Russian. She was able to adapt the sessions to meet all my needs and also made the lessons fun so that I always looked forward to her visits. As regards the supporting course materials I found the books excellent to use and they will be most useful for future reference. I would have no hesitation in recommending Language Trainers UK to others.
