One-to-one General/Business

Ukrainian Course in Brighton

It's no problem if you need to take Ukrainian lessons specifically for personal use or to help with your career - our trainers mould the lesson plan to your precise needs.

A General course in Ukrainian will grant you 'Survival Ukrainian' - enough under your belt to furnish you with a working knowledge for the purpose of visiting the country, allowing you to introduce yourself and engage in conversation with native speakers. Business courses will centre more on formal, business communication, and focus more on reading and writing skills as you advance further.

Our Ukrainian courses would not be fixed to a specific curriculum, however. You know the specifics of what you will need from your new language, and all you need do is tell your teacher. Perhaps if you are taking a Business course, you may want to focus more on Ukrainian telephone or email skills, or a specific vocabulary for your line of work. Likewise, a General course can include specific elements that are integral to your needs, for example if you need vocabulary specific to buying property overseas.

Typical learners who choose our Business courses are import/export professionals, agents for multi-national companies, and those involved with foreign governments and universities. General courses in Ukrainian suit those hoping to emigrate to foreign shores, people with a view to travel to countries where Ukrainian is the vernacular tongue, those with a keen interest in Ukrainian culture and language, and people with foreign spouses.

Info about Brighton

Sunny Brighton is the most popular seaside resort in the UK, and a real centre for multiculturalism, which is promoted throughout the city. Each summer brings with it many thousands of students from overseas, coming to Brighton to learn English and, if they're lucky, to get a glimpse of British sunshine. Over 8 million tourists also visit Brighton every year.

Brighton's popularity is mainly because the city has so much to offer; thanks to the seafront, the buzzing nightlife, the annual Brighton festival, its proximity to London, the huge array of shops and boutiques, and much more.

The ethnic mix in Brighton is a testament to the easy-going lifestyle throughout the city, and makes it a fantastic place to pick up a new language from scratch - especially for the more popular European tongues like German, French, Spanish and Italian; though there are plenty of other cultures in abundance throughout the city.

Info about Ukrainian

Ukrainian is an East Slavic language, used by around 40 million people around the world, and shares many features with other Slavic tongues such as Polish, Russian, Croatian and Slovak; including the Cyrillic alphabet.

The Ukrainian language has had a chequered history, and is currently recovering from a period of deterioration due to numerous bans and discouragement over the past few centuries. Since the last decade of the 20th century, the Ukrainian government has actively encouraged the spread of the language, and nowadays almost everyone in Ukraine speaks the language, though many are also fluent in Russian.

Ukrainian, like most Slavic languages, is a difficult prospect for the average native English speaker, but fluency can be gained with careful study, daily practice and a little passion.
