One-to-one General/Business

Ukrainian Course in Galway

If you want to be taught Ukrainian for academic reasons, business needs or gain a working knowledge of the language for general purposes, our tailormade lessons are guaranteed to be the ideal solution.

General and Business courses in Ukrainian differ in style and content: a General course will concentrate on developing confident conversational skills, making short visits to the country less of an exercise in frustration and more about building upon the foundations to your own ends. A Business course will focus on business protocol in Ukrainian, and later on reading and writing will become more important.

Our Ukrainian courses would not be fixed to a specific curriculum, however. You know the specifics of what you will need from your new language, and all you need do is tell your teacher. Perhaps if you are taking a Business course, you may want to focus more on Ukrainian telephone or email skills, or a specific vocabulary for your line of work. Equally, a General course will cover the fundamentals, but further focus in any particular area can easily be arranged with your teacher.

Our Business courses cater to a range of requirements. Many of our clients work for foreign governments and educational institutions, corporations with branches abroad, as well as those who buy and sell around the world. General courses in Ukrainian suit those hoping to emigrate to foreign shores, people with a view to travel to countries where Ukrainian is the vernacular tongue, those with a keen interest in Ukrainian culture and language, and people with foreign spouses.

Info about Ukrainian

Ukrainian is an East Slavic language, used by around 40 million people around the world, and shares many features with other Slavic tongues such as Polish, Russian, Croatian and Slovak; including the Cyrillic alphabet.

The Ukrainian language has had a chequered history, and is currently recovering from a period of deterioration due to numerous bans and discouragement over the past few centuries. Since the last decade of the 20th century, the Ukrainian government has actively encouraged the spread of the language, and nowadays almost everyone in Ukraine speaks the language, though many are also fluent in Russian.

Ukrainian, like most Slavic languages, is a difficult prospect for the average native English speaker, but fluency can be gained with careful study, daily practice and a little passion.
