Immanuel's Bio
I started travelling when I was 6 years old and I remember that everything about England was different from my home in Nigeria: the smell, the buildings, the clothing, the shops and the food. Everything about the experience fascinated me and made me want to explore other places, and also revisit the ones I had already visited. That first two-week summer break started a love affair I have been swept up in ever since. This passion continued when I went to the University of Southampton, where I studied economics. And yes, if I had known soon enough, I probably would have studied writing/communications. I began as a freelancer, writing on anything and everything I could find. It wasn’t until I teamed up with Language Trainers that my writing, passion and ambitions really took off. As a freelancer, I have worked for clients on every continent and I have enjoyed helping people launch new careers, businesses and projects. Drawing on my travelling experiences and the global clients I had worked with, I have been able to make meaningful contributions to LT (I hope). It is always an honour writing for brands dedicated to making life easier for others. Language Trainers does just that and I am glad to be a part of their story. While I only speak English fluently, I have picked up bits and pieces of French, Spanish, Swahili, Hausa and Yoruba.
I enjoy travel writing because I enjoy travelling and discovering new things, cultures and foods…I LOVE food! The joy of visiting foreign lands and having your mind blown is immeasurable. When I’m not writing, I enjoy reading the news, watching sports (I love basketball), watching movies and playing with animals. Fun fact about me: when I was a kid, I wanted to be a pilot. I loved flying, but I was afraid of heights. As a result, I could not become a pilot, but now that I’m older, I still hope to become a helicopter pilot! Wish me luck! But until then, and even afterwards, I hope to keep making learning fun for people by writing amazing content.
