English in London

Why learn English in London? – London, the capital of England, is the ultimate culmination of all things British. In this city containing four World Heritage Sites, cultural icons can be found in every corner. Buckingham Palace sits just a few minutes away from Trafalgar Square. Shakespeare’s Globe will take you right back to the era of Elizabethan theatre, whilst more contemporary performances can be found all around the West End. Taking English lessons in London allows you to fully appreciate all the wonders of the city. It takes you back to the very roots of the language, in the country from which it originates. There is nowhere better to study authentic English than in London itself.

Beyond its history, London today hosts a thriving community filled with new opportunities. Based on data collected from the World Bank, the OECD and the United Nations, London remained the world’s leading financial centre in 2018. Little surprise, considering the city is the headquarters to some of the largest British companies, including the BBC and HSBC Bank. There are plenty of doors in London that will open by learning English – the British government has already dictated that only fluent English speakers are eligible for public sector jobs. Enhance your employability by taking English courses in London and put your studies into practice in a city rich with potential.

English brings with it accessibility unlike any other language. With 1.5 billion speakers worldwide, English can take you to places you’ve never even imagined. As the official language of over 60 sovereign states, there are very few places inaccessible to an English speaker. Heathrow Airport is the biggest airport in Europe, flying over 78 million passengers to and from England in 2017. Being an English speaker based in London allows you the freedom to travel and to connect with people around the globe. Even within London itself, with its diverse inhabitants speaking over 300 languages in total, English is the lingua franca which unites them all. Whatever your aims, taking English classes in London will elevate you on to a greater, global platform. It gives you the freedom to work, communicate and settle almost anywhere in the world – an investment which will benefit you for life.
