Language Trainers: Good afternoon, Line! Thank you for agreeing to this interview with us. Could you tell us first what language you teach and why you chose a career in teaching?
Line: I teach French, and I decided to become a teacher because teaching is very important in a person’s life. If you have a good teacher, you are more likely to manage your daily life and career well. Plus, it's a job where you can interact with people. I also decided to teach French because I love the language.
Language Trainers: That’s amazing! And how did you start your career? Tell us about your teaching qualifications and history.
Line: I went to a French university in Paris to study modern and oriental languages. In France, if you want to become a teacher, you have to study at a University and get a degree. After finishing my studies, I started working in a nursery school in Paris and then I changed my mind and became a private French teacher.
Language Trainers: Is that why you chose to teach one-on-one courses with us? What attracted you to teach with Language Trainers?
Line: Many years ago, I came to London to work as an after-class French teacher. One day, I saw a job offer from Language Trainers on the Internet and I decided to apply. It was for a French teaching position nearly 3 years ago. I chose this company because I had the feeling that I could work in good conditions and I wanted to teach French to adults in their work place.
Language Trainers: And what has been your experience since then?
Line: I think that the Language Trainers team is very professional. It's very easy to get in touch with the staff members, which makes you feel that they are interested in you.
Language Trainers: I’m delighted to hear this! Now, regarding your students, what do you expect from them when you are assigned a new course?
Line: I like it when students tell me clearly what they expect from me as their teacher, and when they give me feedback about my classes, so I can help them get better results.
Language Trainers: Indeed! It’s very helpful when students are communicative. And what about the other way around? What should students expect from you as their teacher?
Line: As students pay for the course, I don't want them to feel disappointed. So, I do my best to teach well and I am always happy when I notice that my students’ French level has improved.
Language Trainers: There’s nothing more rewarding than when students improve their language skills, right? And so far, which has been your most memorable teaching experience with Language Trainers?
Line: The most memorable experience I had was with my first adult student when I started working with this company. I developed a very good relationship with this student, which will stay as a good memory.
Language Trainers: That’s fantastic! And why do you think students should enrol in a language course with Language Trainers?
Line: Students should enrol in a language course with Language Trainers because it's a company that takes care of their students. The team is always ready to respond to all their needs. It's very easy to reach them and you can receive all the resources to study in good conditions.
Language Trainers: Thanks a lot for your time, Line! To close this interview, could you share with us a fun fact about French?
Line: I remember one day I asked one of my students to tell me funny things about French culture. And yes, some French people do like eating frogs.
