Mehmet
Language Trainers: What language(s) do you teach? Why did you choose a career in teaching?
Mehmet: I teach Turkish. I started teaching in 2017, and since then, I’ve worked with over 60 students and taught close to 2,000 hours. Teaching became a passion for me because it allows me to connect with people from all over the world. I love introducing students to Turkish language and culture, while also learning about their own. It’s a fulfilling experience that I truly enjoy.
Language Trainers: Tell us about your teaching qualifications and history.
Mehmet: I’ve been teaching Turkish for many years. I’ve worked with students from a wide range of nationalities, age groups, and learning goals. Over the years, I’ve developed a flexible teaching style that adapts to each student’s needs. Some prefer grammar-based learning, while others benefit more from conversation and practice. I design lessons based on my students’ interests and learning preferences to make the process both effective and enjoyable.
Language Trainers: What attracted you to teach with Language Trainers?
Mehmet: I was drawn to Language Trainers because it offers the chance to work with motivated students from around the world. The platform’s professional structure and international reach make it a great space for both teachers and learners.
Language Trainers: What is your favourite thing about working with Language Trainers?
Mehmet: I enjoy the diversity of students the most. Each learner brings a unique background and perspective, which keeps teaching interesting and dynamic. I also appreciate the support and organization the platform provides.
Language Trainers: What do you look for in a student?
Mehmet: I value students who are open-minded, motivated, and willing to participate actively in lessons. I especially enjoy working with students who are curious about both the language and the culture behind it.
Language Trainers: What should students expect from you as their teacher?
Mehmet: Students can expect flexibility, both in scheduling and in teaching approach. I adapt my lessons to fit their learning styles—whether they prefer structured grammar lessons or more practical, conversational sessions. I also select topics based on their interests to keep them engaged and motivated.
Language Trainers: Describe your most memorable teaching experience with Language Trainers.
Mehmet: Some of my most memorable experiences have been with students who started with absolutely no knowledge of Turkish. Through hard work and consistent lessons, they eventually reached a level where they could speak fluently. In the beginning, I often need to explain certain points in English, but over time, some students become so advanced that we conduct the entire lesson in Turkish. One moment that stands out was when my family overheard one of my online lessons. They were surprised and impressed to hear my student speaking fluently in Turkish, especially knowing they had started from scratch. That moment made me really proud. I also receive very kind and heartfelt feedback from my students, which motivates me even more and reminds me how meaningful this work is.
Language Trainers: Why should students enrol in a language course with Language Trainers?
Mehmet: Language Trainers offers a professional and flexible learning environment with experienced instructors who personalize lessons according to student needs. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking for meaningful and structured language learning.
Language Trainers: Tell us a fun fact about the language you teach or a favourite expression you ask your students to learn.
Mehmet: One expression I love teaching is “Bir dil bir insan, iki dil iki insan,” which means “One language is one person, two languages are two people.” It beautifully captures the value we place on language and communication in Turkish culture. I believe it reflects how learning a new language doesn’t just give you new words—it gives you a new way of seeing the world, of connecting, of being. Many of my students remember this phrase long after our lessons end, because it reminds them why they started learning Turkish in the first place.
