My lesson went extremely well, this is my first time having a one-on-one tutor, and she took time to be personable with me before we started the lesson. Once we started, she was really good at providing some of your basic conjugation examples, but then also provided context to them. Nuances of when to use formal language, or little tad bits of some of the vocabulary. During our lesson she also sprinkled in little linguistic factoids that I love; for example, that Sein is irregular because it was developed centuries before the other grammar rules came along. Commentary like that helps color some of the concepts that I'm not used to. I do have a little exposure to the language, I felt that she picked up on this and didn't focus long on the pronunciations or common greetings that I did know, which I was grateful for, cause then we were able to spend a larger amount of time trying to fine tune the pronunciation of the alphabet letters that I do struggle with. At the end of the lesson, she gave me my homework, and other helpful links outside of the textbooks to help me immerse myself in the language. I loved it, and I'm excited for my next class!
